The department offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate Program in Physics.

This includes:

  • Core course in Physics
  • Complementary Course in Physics (for Mathematics and Chemistry Main)
  • Open course in Physics

 Course Details:

  1. B.Sc. Physics: This is an undergraduate program. The program emphasizes on the fundamentals of Physics while introducing modern concepts such as Quantum Mechanics and Relativity proceeding over to Classical Mechanics Electrodynamics taking forward the courses like Electricity and Magnetism, Optics and Waves, similarly Statistical Mechanics and Thermodynamics and also basic concepts in electronics. The course duration is 3 years and the syllabus is divided into six semesters. This course provides the beneficiary for the candidates in the area of higher studies, career opportunities in both private and public sectors.

Eligibility: The minimum eligibility for pursuing this course is an intermediate 10+2 in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and English as compulsory subjects. Students must have secured good percentage of marks in their 10+2 examination.

  1. M.Sc. Physics: This is a post graduate physics course. The course duration is two years. The course follows the semester system and hence the syllabus is divided into four semesters. The course imparts knowledge on the fundamental principles of several branches in Physics. It covers the basic knowledge of various specializations like Mathematical physics, Quantum Mechanics, Classical Mechanics, Electronics, Nuclear physics, Optics and Electromagnetic theory, Condensed matter Physics

Eligibility: The candidate must have passed B.Sc. Physics with 50% or above marks in aggregate.
