I completed my Ph.D. from Cochin University of Science and Technology, specializing in the taxonomy (molecular and morphological) and ecology of marine zooplankton. Over the course of my academic career, I have published more than 100 research papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals and books, in addition to authoring seven books. I have presented research papers at numerous national and international conferences and seminars and have actively contributed to academic activities by organizing 18 national seminars/workshops at St. Stephen’s College. Furthermore, I have participated in nearly 110 national and international seminars and conferences. To strengthen my expertise in taxonomy and marine biodiversity, I have received specialized training from several prestigious national and international institutions, including the University of Gothenburg – Sven Lovén Centre for Marine Sciences, Sweden; CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography, Kochi; ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Kochi; and ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai. I have also participated in more than 15 national and international oceanic research cruises. My research has led to the discovery and description of 10 new species of crustacean mysids, two new species of Tanaidacea, and one new species of Isopoda from Indian waters, in addition to two new species of crustacean mysids from the Antarctic Ocean. In recognition of my expertise, I serve as a reviewer for several reputed international scientific journals and am recognized as a Research Guide in Zoology under the University of Kerala. Under my supervision, five scholars have successfully completed their Ph.D., while five more are currently pursuing doctoral research. I have been honored with several prestigious recognitions, including the EDIT-DEST Fellowship (2010) from the European Distributed Institute of Taxonomy, the Best Faculty Award (2019) from Noval Research Academy, the Best Researcher Award (2020) from GISR Foundation, and the His Grace Job Mar Philoxenos Best Teacher Award (2024) instituted by the management of Mount Tabor Dayara. In 2023, I was also elected as a Member of the Senate, University of Kerala.
