NCC

                  The N.C.C. aims at inculcating in students a spirit of discipline and a willingness to serve the country. Boys & girls can get themselves admitted to the N.C.C. in the beginning of each academic year. The cadets are given regular training in the college and at camps. Examinations are held and merit certificates are awarded. As per the Order No. Ac. AV/1/Grace marks dated 25.02.2015 of the University of Kerala, eligible NCC cadets will be awarded grace marks on the basis of the Gross Total Marks for Degree Course. Seats are also reserved for the N.C.C. cadets who complete the course meritoriously and they are eligible for getting admission in the reserved seats of Medicine, Engineering and Polytechnic courses. Uniforms and refreshment are supplied free of cost. At present our college has one unit with the strength of 108 cadets consisting of both boys and girls, who are trained by 14 (K) Bn., Pathanamthitta.

HISTORY OF NCC

        The present day NCC under ministry of Defence came into existence on 16 Apr 1948through NCC act XXXI, 1948. It was one of the recommendations of a committee headed by DR H.N. Kuzru that the corps was formed. NCC was formally inaugurated on 15 Jul 1948 as soon as the schools colleges reopened after summer vacation. The Girl division of NCC was started in Jul 1949. In 1950 Air Wing was added on Apr with one Air squadron each at Bombay and Kolkata. The Naval wing of the NCC was raised in Jul 1952, thus completing the true representation of all services in the corps. Unity and Discipline” as motto for the NCC was taken in the Central Advisory Committee (CAC) held on 12 Oct 1980

HOW TO JOIN NCC
  • Eligibility Conditions

          Citizen of India or a subject of Nepal.

          Bearing good moral character.

          Enrolled in an educational institution.

          Meets the prescribed medical standards.

         Age  :Senior Division/Wing (Boys/Girls) – Upto 26 years

         Enrolment Period : Senior Division/Wing (Boys/Girls) – 3 years

  • Application for Enrollment

           A student desirous of being enrolled in the Senior Division shall apply to the Officer commanding the unit.

           A student desirous of being enrolled in the Junior Division shall apply to the Headmaster of the school providing the unit or part thereof.

           The Officer to whom an application under sub-rule (1) has been made, shall cause the applicant to fill up and sign in his presence a statement in Form I.

          The Headmaster to whom an application under sub-rule (2) has been made shall cause the applicant to fill up and sign in his presence a statement in Form II.

  • Vitrification

            When an application is made to a Commanding Officer or a Headmaster under rule 7, he shall satisfy himself that the application is in proper form and that the applicant fulfils the conditions of enrolment specified in rule 5 or 6, as the case may be. The Commanding Officer or the Headmaster may make such further enquiry regarding the suitability of the applicant for enrolment in the unit or part thereof in which he desires to be enrolled, as may be prescribed in this behalf, by the State Government.

  • Medical Examination

           If the Commanding Officer or the Headmaster is not satisfied that the application is in order or that the applicant fulfils the conditions of enrolment or that he is suitable to be enrolled in the unit or part thereof or the applicant is reported to be medically unfit for service in the National Cadet Corps, the Commanding Officer or the Headmaster shall reject the application and shall inform the applicant accordingly.
